Saturday the 21st of July saw the small, sleepy, and quiet town of Lyme Regis spark into life as the Redbull crew rolled into town ready for the Redbull Harbour Reach wakeboarding competition.

Often labelled as one of the most progressive wakeboarding events in the UK, Redbull Harbour Reach is without out a doubt one of most unique events around. It is based in the Lyme Regis harbour itself, with a variety of rails and a quater pipe within the harbour for the atheltes to show off their skills, and then of course the main obstical of the course … the huge jumps over the harbour wall itself.

The beaches were packed, which was surprising for what I thought was going to be a small event. But it seemed that the whole of the town had come out to watch, along with others who had come a lot further to get a slice of the action.
After waiting for the tide to rise a bit, and listening to the Redbull MC’s and DJ’s keeping us all entertained, the first athletes started dropping in to hit the course.

After a few warm up jumps the riders got stuck in, and gave a crowd pleasing show. Some mad stuff was being thrown down and this was only the qualifying!

Once the qualifying heats were over there was a break before the finals. However the crowd didn’t go without entertainment … the Redbull Matador stunt pilots flew in, and gave an awesome show! It would have been the highlight of the event for me, if the finals hadn’t been so crazy!

Once finals came around the sun was starting to set making the setting even more rad! Hats of to the riders, they let it all hang out during the finals and threw down some super gnarly tricks that I didn’t even know the names of!

Anyway guys this is a sick event and make sure you get yourself down there next year, its a good time!
